8 Ball Tip #2: Block the Driveway

“The game of golf would lose a great deal if croquet mallets and billiard cues were allowed on the putting green.”  -Ernest Hemmingway, 1899-1961

8 Ball: Block the driveway Due to the congested nature of 8 ball, you would find your objects balls under many different situations.  Quite often, you'd find them sitting frozen to the cushion close to the pocket while your opponent's lying behind yours.  Sometimes, you would find them sitting next to the pocket.  Doesn't matter what it is, if you find any of your object balls blocking your opponent's to the pocket, depending on the situation,  you could do two things...either sink it right away especially the frozen one or wait until you finish the rest of your ball.  If you are really a good shotmaker then, it doesn't matter, but if you aren't, you may want to keep that ball for a while and take care of your other balls then deal with afterwards.  This way, you gain a little confident that your opponent may find some difficulty, in case you miss, for a runout due to your blocker ball.  This is not a form of cheating but rather defensive playing.

    Good Luck!
