Most popular pool games are 8-Ball, where players should pocket all the balls in the selected group ("solids" or "stripes"), then pocket the Eight Ball black) to win the game, and 9-Ball, played with 9 balls, numbered 1 through 9, in which the object is to legally pocket the 9-Ball by hitting the lowest numbered ball first.
