Key Ball -In eight ball, refers to an object ball after being pocketed provides an easy
position play for the eight ball.
Kick Shot - a shot in which the cue ball hits one or more cushions before hitting the
designated object ball.
Kiss - refers to a billiard situation where an object ball glances off another object ball
on its way to intended destination.
Kitchen - refers to an area on the billiard table bounded by the head rail and head string - an
area from which you break.
Lag - a very soft stroke.
Lag for the Break - a billiard method to determine who is going to break in the very beginning of the game. It is done by
rolling a solid ball from the head string to the foot rail and bounce back down towards the head rail. The player who makes the ball to come back
closer to the head rail wins the first break.
Leave - refers to the overall layout of the balls on the table that a player leaves to other player after shot.
Lemon - refers to a player intentionally playing below the actual skills for the purpose of raising the bet by the other player.
Long - 1. refers to a bank shot that misses to the far side of the pocket. 2. refers to a shot when the cue ball rolls past beyond
the ideal position zone in position play.
Long String - refers to an imaginary line that runs through the middle of the table from foot rail to head rail.
