"Try to put well in practice what you
already know. In so doing, you will, in good time, discover
the hidden things you now inquire about.”
-Remy de Gourmont , 1858-1915
Uhm, you are really getting serious about learning
billiards huh? That's good! billiards is a fun and
exciting sports to learn anyway. Similar to chess,
playing billiards requires thinking and tactical moves.
But, before we even get to that you've got to learn
these skills first. So, I assume you know and
already practice the basic skills in billiards. If
not go back, right now. Ok, you know the basics,
most importantly, you know how to hit the cue ball
properly and bring it wherever you want it to go.
Now, it's time to get a little Geometry and Physics
going. What if the cue ball hits something on its
path, of its shape, at certain velocity...sounds to
Physics...ok speed. You know the two forces acting
on it, the force coming from the cue stick and the
friction on the table. What's going to happen, to the
cue ball and to the object ball? Not to worry,
this will be an easy thing to learn. Good news!, after mastering these skills, you've
won more than half of the battle. You could
start to sense the smell of victory.
Good luck!!!
