Only those who have to do simple things perfectly
will acquire the skill to do difficult things easily”
-Friedrich von Schiller , 1759-1805
This type of shot is used when you want the
cue ball to fly or jump over an obstruction to have a
nice and clean shot on the intended object ball.
This technique is like the massé
shot...it requires a special cue stick to get
accomplished more effectively. Jump shot is not
achieved by hitting the cue ball below the center, but
it is rather done by hitting the cue ball slightly above it with
an elevated billiard stick and snapping action. Yup,
that's the magic trick, snapping action. The
picture below shows where exactly you would hit
the ball on a regular jump shot. Depending
on the height of the jump, you would increase the
strength of your stroke and stick elevation.

The way you aim in a jump shot, is by aiming
as how you would normally do in a regular shot and then
slowly elevate your stick. Unless you're really
good at jump shot, make it as your last resort because
it's quite difficult to have a good position play after
a jump shot. The video below will show you exactly how to execute a jump shot. Thanks to YouTube.
Good luck!!!
